Awohono School started their penguin journey in 2019. Every class had a visit from Lucy education ranger, diving into the world of penguins and our resource book. The young ones enjoyed a fun quiz with thumbs up, thumbs down and a fun drawing activity. A group of year 5/6 students had chosen to focus on ‘Animal Aid’ for a term’s topic and penguin conservation fitted in perfectly. This led to many great conversations about pollution, litter, climate change and what actions humans could take to help the planet.
