Penguinville gets underway from 1pm Monday 20th to noon Sunday 26th January for the creation of fun penguin houses on Hokitika beach. This year, exciting new art and craft activities from Clare and games from Zoe will also be available Wednesday to Friday for children.
Can you imagine creating penguins out of recycled plastic bottles? Or how about printing your own reusable bag with a penguin motif? Perhaps creating a penguin driftwood mobile is up your street or painting a psychedelic plaster penguin to take home? Do you fancy your chances against the threats faced by penguins? Could you be a Penguin Ranger? All these fun activities and more will be led by Clare Cosson and Zoe Watson next week for children.
The usual 2m x 2m sections will also be available for children and families to create imaginative penguin homes with materials found only on the beach so come to the beach and make the most of these opportunities and the wonderful location!
Penguinville has become an integral part of the annual Driftwood & Sand community beach sculpture event at the beach and many more activities are available for children and adults. For the full programme, click here, or go to the Driftwood & Sand website.
