The Trust has been focussed on research and practical projects but now needs your help to maintain its work to better understand and protect penguins on the West Coast, and you can help this #GivingTuesday!
The global day of giving started in 2012 but 2014 is the first time it has come to New Zealand.
#GivingTuesday is a global day dedicated to giving back. On Tuesday, December 2, 2014, the West Coast Penguin Trust and other charities, families, businesses and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.
The idea is simple. Just find a way for your family, your community, your company or your organization to come together to give something more. Then tell everyone you can about how you are giving.
The Trust is hoping that you will join us and be a part of a global celebration of a new tradition of generosity.
We already know you support us and the work we do to protect penguins and we are grateful. Now we’re hoping our wonderful supporters will take another step or two to help. Perhaps you could invite others to support us.
There are a number of things you could do to help:
- Donate to the Trust via our secure Givealittle page
- Download and print our Giving Tuesday donations label and invite friends and colleagues to contribute on Giving Tuesday and/or any Tuesday in December in the lead up to Christmas; perhaps your employer will match donations!
- Let us know how you might be able to help the Trust, perhaps a bit of administration or PR or fundraising initiatives!
- Take a picture of what you do and post it to our Facebook page– the unselfish selfie, or unselfie!
Thank you for your help and support. It’s wonderful to be able to share our work with you.
