Welcome to our packed Spring Newsletter! Spring Newsletter 2012 A lot has been happening since the last newsletter …
notably the annual penguin census, regional and national awards for the Trust and a conservation award for the Hokitika Scouts for their work in support of the Trust.
Cape Foulwind has been the focus for an exciting new project as well as the devastating blow of a massacre of 15 penguins by one or two dogs. There’s an update on the SH6 fencing project and Kaniere School is featured as they learn about penguins.
The Trust has caught up with social media and now has YouTube (WCBPT YouTube) and facebook (WCBPT facebook page)pages where you can see the latest news and video clips as we go through the breeding season. A new thermal imager is providing wonderful images and a very special and surprising clip is available here: Blue Penguin – thermal imager film
The annual census has provided more useful information and a summary is now on the research page of the Trust’s website: Census results 2012.
We hope you enjoy the newsletter – please pass it on to others who may be interested and, if you have any comments, we’d love to hear from you!
